What is the science behind Earthing?
A: The science behind Earthing connects physics, biology, and physiology. We are electrical beings! Our bodies function as a collection of dynamic electrical circuits. One of the primary electrical entities in the body is the heart. Each beat is triggered by an electrical signal from within the heart muscle. Energy is within us and all around us. But not all energies are created equal. Man made electricity creates an electro-magnetic field (EMF) that is foreign to our bodies. The Earth on the other hand pulsates with energy that is natural to us as we evolved in contact with this subtle energy. Basically, the Earth is six sextillion (that's a six followed by twenty-one zeroes) metric ton battery that is continually being replenished by solar radiation, lightning, and heat from its deep-down molten core. The natural rhythmic pulsations of natural energy flowing through and emanating from the surface of the Earth keep the biological machinery and global life running in rhythm and balance-and that includes you. Grounding to the Earth brings your body back into contact with this natural rhythm and back to electrical balance.
It is important to ground oneself often in Nature. Earthing also known as Grounding, is simply connecting your body directly to the subtle, natural electrical energy that exists on the surface of the earth. You can do this by standing or walking barefoot on bare organic earth (soil, sand, forests, beaches, mountains, etc.), preferably near a body of water (IMHO).
